With the U.S. supposedly entering (or already in) a recession it might be a good idea to list businesses that are resistant to declining in times of economic unrest…
Health Related Businesses: people still get sick in a recession.
Death Related Businesses: people still die in a recession.
Food Related Businesses: people still eat in a recession. Maybe simpler, healthier foods than before, but they still eat.
Repair Businesses: Cars still break down, drains get stopped up, etc.
Cosmetics: Most women will always want to look good when they go out/go to work.
Job Search Related Businesses: Fewer jobs mean more people looking for them.
Tax Preparation: Taxes still need to be paid.
Mandarin Chinese, If you Please
For me, the word mandarin has always been associated with the word oranges. Taking it further, for me, the word oranges has always been associated with Florida. This is a perfect example of how provincial people can be in their thinking.
