Looking to launch a new career or business? Then consider thinking green for sustainable businesses. Wall Street may not have totally embraced this concept yet, but it’s just a matter of time until they do. Business schools nationwide are offering courses in sustainable business practices, with some offering MBA’s in this area. The Presidio School of Management located in SanFrancisco’s Presidio Ntnl. Park integrates environmental social values into each of its courses.

Sustainable business alliances are showing that consideration of your impact on the environment while incorporating socially sound business preactices can be profitable. The fact that so many people are concerned about preserving the environment has become a positive selling point in itself.

All sorts of businesses are helping to ensure that our environment & future society are healthy. Farmers are using organic methods, and homebuilders are using materials that don’t deplete natural resources & are non-toxic for humans to live and work around. These are only couple of examples and the list is growing everyday.

Environmental and economic concerns are also driving the growing field of renewable energy. Imagine what life would be like if we weren’t so dependent on foreign oil, or any oil for that matter. There are existing alternatives such as ethanol & biodiesel which are made from renewable resources. The demand for alternative, non-polluting, and renewable fuels is only going to increase.

There are widespread opportunities to establish a fuel-related sustainable business as well in the solar-power and wind-power area. All it takes is the will to get involved and the ability to communicate to others why your product or service will be less expensive, more efficient, and beneifical for the environment.
