TracFone has very competitive prices and terms of service, and their service is generally quite reliable. With their basic plan, TracFone minutes will expire after 2 months unless you purchase additional minutes. Tracfone offers a 1-year activation for around $100 with a few hundred minutes, which is perfect for people who just require a wireless phone for emergency purposes. Once you are a tracfone customer, they will send you promotional codes and deals for added savings on minutes.
Go Phone:
GoPhone Pay-As-You-Go plans include 2 service options offering either a 10cents/minute charge with a $1/day service fee, or a flat rate 25¢/-minute option. The 10cents/minute service option only charges the $1/day service fee on days that customers use their phone. Subscribers that select this option also receive unlimited in-network calling to other Go Phone subscribers.
Go Phones and Cingular Pre-Paid Cards are available at Walmart and other stores.
Virgin Mobile:
Virgin Mobile is currently offering two pay-per-minute plans. You can either pay 18¢ minute with no monthly commitments and no overage charges, or opt for 10¢ a minute with a 6.99/month charge. You need to add $20 every 90 days to keep your service active.
