Cheap Pens against ID Theft

without comments

A common method crooks use to clean out bank accounts is to steal outgoing checks used to pay bills (from your mailbox). The theives then cover your signature on the check with cellophane tape and soak the check in nail-polish remover for about a 1/2 hour. This removes all of the information you have printed on the check (except your signature) while leaving the original printers ink originally on the check. This leaves a ‘virgin’ check with your signature on it……ready for the crooks to use.

Apparently, the only kind of pen ink immune to this kind of checkwashing is the kind found in cheap gel pens such as the Uni-Ball Gel Impact pen. It might be a worthwhile investment to protect your identity!
